Hey everybody! I've been so busy that I nearly forgot to post any blogs for this month, so I'm gonna get right to it. On the beautiful Island of Enchantment (Puerto Rico) the people have risen up and ousted their governor Ricardo Rossello last week after some pretty intense protests. Their rage was absolutely justified considering that Rossello has been bullshitting around for the past two years post-Hurricane Maria. Thousands of Puerto Ricans are still living in absolute squalor because Rossello's administration failed to generate federal funding to repair all the damage on the island. I'm sure the high levels of corruption in the P.R. government didn't help much either. Puerto RIcans are now in that awkward phase of "Be Careful What You Wish For..." They made the mistake of believing that Rossello was their sole source of their economic and social suffering. Puerto Ricans forget that just like every other elected official in Amerikkka, Rossello was just a figurehead who took his orders from a "higher" authority. His sole job was to make sure that Puerto Ricans remained in debt and despair by purposely mismanaging funds while living high off the hog. Now that he's gone, they are now wondering if the U.S. government will assign them a new governor/yes-man will be an improvement or a certified dictator. I think it's safe to lean towards the latter.
In the state of New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo has decided to legalized marijuana. While this may sound logical on the surface, think about all the lives that were destroyed because the people were unjustly imprisoned for having a joint or a dime bag of weed in their pocket. Instead of throwing people into the Prison Industrial Complex to serve as legalized slave labor (13th Amendment), the New York government has decided to tax the daylights out of people who want to buy weed for recreational use. A lot of it has to do with the state being bankrupt and running on economic fumes. Surely, the P.I.C. has been profitable for the PTBs and its stockholders. However, for the average Joes and Janes who reside in New York, they barely can make ends meet thanks to all the taxes that's snatched from their paychecks to feed the P.I.C., along with the horrific costs of living in NYC and other wealthy parts of the state. Cuomo and his administration have finally come to the conclusion that they're gonna need to find another hustle that will postpone the economic collapse of New York. Marijuana is the perfect Band-Aid since its therapeutic qualities are always in vogue. Other states such as Colorado, Illinois and Michigan have already decided to take the plunge into weed decriminalization. Since the War on Black People....AHEM...excuse me.... the War on "Drugs" is a complete joke and has caused every state to be swimming deep in the red, I fully expect for all drugs to be legal within the next 10 to 20 years. Meanwhile in South America, the Butcher of Brazil is making good on his promise of exterminating the native populations in the Amazonian rainforests in order to exploit the natural resources of their land. As expected, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is playing dumb with the state media, claiming that the untimely demise of a the leader of the Wajapi tribe in northwestern Brazil was just an "accident." However, the Wajapi tribesmen beg to differ since rogue miners have been invading indigenous areas as of late in order to set up shop and get rid of any obstacles that may interfere with their profits. U.N. officials have even stepped in and have put pressure on Bolsonaro and his administration to investigate the death of this Wajapi chieftain. Unfortunately, I don't anticipate Bolsonaro to lift a finger to assist with the investigation considering that the financial entities that put him in power will benefit from the genocide that he's promoting. Until next time....Stay safe and vigilant out there!
